Welcome to Worthians Rugby Football Club
It’s been a busy start to the season kicking off the Cronk-Cunis National Under-21 XVs Competition on 29th August 2016 at Richmond Rugby Club and quickly followed by The Worthians Summer Rugby Festival on Saturday 3rd September 2016 at their home ground of Whiteley Village (KT12 4EJ). And what a fabulous event it was with touch and 7s tournaments and our very first Worthian girls team. The day ended with a social event in London to celebrate the beginning of what we hope to be another successful Worthian rugby season.
The annual ‘Older’ versus ‘Younger’ Worthians RFC match took place on Sunday 11th September 2016 on the Rugby pitch at Worth School. On a gloriously sunny late summer afternoon the Younger Worthians beat the Olders 60-38 despite both teams playing short. The support was boosted in no small part by the appearance of our very own Silver Olympic Medal Rugby 7s Captain, Tom Mitchell (F’07), who presented the Glenn Robertson RFC Challenge Trophy to the Captain of the Youngers Team, James Kemp (F’14).
If you’re interested in joining, playing or coming along to watch a match, then please do contact our Worthians RFC Co-ordinator, Desmond Calnan at firstname.lastname@example.org Worthians RFC Training takes place every Wednesday evening during the season. We meet at 7:15pm at Battersea Park, London SW11 in the car park by the Albert Bridge.
