The Roehampton Memorial – Armistice Day, Tuesday 11th November 2014.  Relatives of those whose names appear on the Memorial at Digby Stuart College, Roehampton, which was the Sacred Heart Convent before it moved to Woldingham, may wish to be aware of the short service that will take place at the memorial on Tuesday 11 November, Armistice Day, at 1045am and which will include the Silence.  The 11 metre long memorial, described as ‘absolutely unique’ by the Imperial War Museum, holds plaques commemorating 275 men and women, most of whom died as a result of the ‘war to end all wars.’  They were relatives of the nuns and children who attended the Society of the Sacred Heart Convent school which was located on the Digby Stuart College Campus.  The Memorial is near the main entrance to the campus in Roehampton Lane. It will be led by the University’s Catholic chaplain, Fr Robert Kaggwa.  Anyone, and particularly anyone with a relative whose name may be on the memorial, should contact Fr Robert Kaggwa or call 020 8390 3000.
