The Worthians Charitable Trust
As its name suggests, the Worthians Charitable Trust (WCT) is a charitable trust – registered charity number 1084948 – which helps to fund a number of charitable activities in support of Worth Society, Worth School and the Abbey. This includes the WCT Global Action Awards (GAAs).
Fr Luke Jolly, Prior of Worth Abbey, is Chairman of the Trustees, and the Trustees are Nicholas Barnett, Robert Bodnar-Horvath, Nicholas Butterworth and Crispin Hayhoe.
Principal Objects
To further the education (including social and physical training) of prospective pupils, pupils attending and former pupils of, Worth School and to advance religious practice and education in accordance with the doctrines and principles of the Roman Catholic faith as they are practised at the School and Worth Abbey.
Principal Aims
The aims of the Society are to :
- Support Worth School and the Abbey in its educational and Christian mission
- Promote, foster and encourage contact and mutual assistance between all members of Worth Society
- Use the income and assets of the Society to further its aims.
Donations
In addition to the £25.00 fee paid for annual Membership to Worth Society, donations to the Charitable Trust are always very gratefully received. They are used towards the good work of the Worthians Charitable Trust – including the Global Action Awards and the School Bursary Fund, which is used to enable pupils, who do not have the means to benefit from an education at Worth, to attend the School.
