2019 Events

The Class of 2009 Leavers gathered on the Rooftop of The Ned in the City of London on Friday 12th July for their 10 Year Reunion.  Charlie Forbes StB’09 did a fantastic job of getting over 40 of his year together and were joined by Andrew Taylor and Duncan Pring.

The Class of 1999 Leavers’ met for their 20 Year Reunion on the evening of Saturday 6th July 2019 at The Plough in Battersea. Mike Matthews B’99 co-ordinated the evening.

We were honoured to host the Class of 1969 for their 50 Year Reunion Lunch at Worth on Thursday 27th June. 15 of that cohort came back – some having not being back at all in those 50 years – for a tour of the campus and a gourmet lunch, rather unlike the school food they remembered, and to link up with old friends and teachers.  A wonderful time was had by all, even Rocket, Janusz Heath’s lovely jack russell.

The evening of Monday 17th June saw nearly 400 Worthians gather at The Savoy for a wonderful reception, hosted by Managing Director Philip Barnes StB’72, to kick off the start of Worth Senior School’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés while catching up with old friends and sharing stories of their time at Worth. There were speeches by Jerry Fletcher, Worth Society Chairman, and the current Head Master, Stuart McPherson, who reflected on the achievements of Worth in the last 60 years, as well as looking forward to the continued success of the School and its exciting forthcoming developments.

50 or so Worthians congregated at The Happenstance in Paternoster Square on the evening of 9th April for our 2019 Careers Networking Evening.  There was a fantastic buzz in the air as young Worthians received words of wisdom on a range of careers paths from Worthian Professionals who had very kindly given up their time to be Advisors on the night.

A large number of Worthians descended upon Hong Kong for the Rugby Sevens World Series and so it was only appropriate for there to be a Hong Kong Gathering at The Globe on Thursday 4th April, hosted by our roaming Worth Society Committee Member and former Gervase House Master, Andrew Taylor.  Many residents Worthians were able to meet each other along with visiting Worthians over drinks provided by Worth Society.

For the first time in many years there was a gathering of Worthians in Sydney on 11th January to coincide with former House Master, Andrew Taylor’s, visit to the City. Worthians spanning the early ’80s to the late ’00s and some former members of staff met on the Roof Top bar of The Glenmore Hotel in The Rocks with its stunning views of the harbour to reminisce over drinks provided by Worth Society.
