Its been a busy month for Worthian weddings; Marcus Lee (StB’04) married Megan Williams in Chipping Campden on Friday 5th August; Charles Birchall (R’03) married Jessica Heaney on Saturday 6th August in Wimbledon; and Hugh Bonn (G’02) married Miranda Hicks in Jersey on Saturday 13th August.  Fr Kevin officiated at all three!

Tim Davies has news of an exciting adventure for Worthians. Do you fancy joining him this September for a week of sweeping panoramas, plunging canyons and rich Andalusian culture? His expedition company will be walking the epic desert Badlands of Gorafe – Spain’s answer to the Wild West – assisted by rare Andalusian donkeys and fuelled by delicious Andalusian cooking with a traditional evening of flamenco to finish. All levels of experience welcome. For more information contact Sam or Tim at or pop along to hear more at 6:30pm on Thursday 1st September at the Warwick Castle Pub, 6 Warwick Place, Maida Vale, London W9 2PX.

We send massive congratulations to Tom Mitchell (F’07) who captained the Team GB Rugby Sevens Olympic Team to win a Silver Medal on 11th August in Rio losing out to Gold due to a powerful performance from Fiji.  We are hugely proud of you Tom, our very first Olympic Champion!

Ewan Clayton (C’75), who has an MBE for services to Calligraphy, recently gave a fascinating lecture discussing if writing will survive the digital transformation of our culture.  You can view this here.

After serving their delicious meatballs out of a vintage truck, Livio and Lorenzo Belpassi (B’04) have now opened a restaurant, Belpassi Bros, at 70 Tooting High Street, London Sw17.  To celebrate this they are offering free meatballs to punters on Saturday 27th August between 5pm and 6pm!

We are hugely proud to hear that Tom Mitchell (F’07) will Captain Team GB’s Rugby Sevens  Team at the Rio Olympics.  We wish him and the rest of the team lots of Worthian luck!
