Many congratulations to James Maxwell-Scott (R’89) who was appointed as a Queen’s Counsel on 22nd February.


Anthony Ward-Thomas (B’76) has sadly had to pull out of his Atlantic pedal crossing due to illness. However he and his fellow challenger, James Ketchell, have raised a staggering £41,500 for Naomi House Hospice. A huge well done chaps! To find out more click here.


Otto Orssten (StB’15) will be taking part in a once in a life time challenge this summer for charity Childreach International by doing a 9 day trek of The Great Wall of China.  If you would like to help him raise his target of  £2,985 to help improve healthcare, children’s’ rights and education on a global scale you can donate via this link to his My Donate page.

Very sad news of two recent Worthian deaths; Francis Ormsby-Gore (G’72) RIP, Lord Harlech, died on Monday 1st February 2016 at the age of 61.  He is survived by his children, Jasset and Tallulah.

Fabian Aiken (StB’84) RIP passed peacefully away on Saturday 6th February 2016, aged 49, after a long illness.  We send our love and prayers to his wife, Annette, and all the family.  His funeral will take place on Friday 19th February 2016 at 12:30pm at St John the Baptist Church, High Street, Penshurst, Kent TN11 8BL.


Entries are now open for the Fifth Henry Surtees Foundation Brooklands Team Challenge taking place on Tuesday 5th July 2016. Organised every year by John Surtees CBE in memory of his Worthian son, Henry, this will be held again at the iconic Mercedes-Benz World and is free to spectate. 35 teams compete in a challenging 2 hour endurance race in Daytona High-Performance two-stroke DMAX Karts followed by a prize-giving Champagne and canape reception.  If you would like to organise a team and compete, or just attend the reception you can book here
